After the small prologue of 3 weeks ago, here is the first round with my new uber cheapo and uber flucking crazy AMD stuff.
Past weekend I and my HwProject.net fellows had 48 hours no stop benching.
While they were focused on their HD5870 lightning + Sandy rig I was testing my new AMD stuff (much more fun than Sandy TBH).
Despite the huge amount of time wasted cause of the ice and moisture I managed to get some good results too, and if the HD with 2k3 server wouldn’t had decided to die there would have been something more…
Phenom II x4 955 B.E.
MSI 990FXA-GD80 – bios 11.2
KHX 2k cas8 MGH-E-Hyper
PCP&C 1200 Watt
6200 LE PCI-E
WD scorpio 160 GB sata
Guglio’s CPU pot rev 2.0
super-pi 1M is far to be efficient, by the way looks like it’s the Italian record with AMD – wooooooooot
1M :: 10.359 s
Other than super-pi 1M I did some preparation run for 3dmark 01, tested another GTX280 that on air was way better than my first one but had cold slow bug around -85/-90° C and went for the max CPU freq.
Also appear that the following CPUZ shot is the italian WR…so woot ^ 2.
This MSI is a nice board but have some trouble with Elpida Hyper RAMs and is damn slow in super-pi.
I hope that with the next BIOS release MSI will address these issues.
Round two should be in the next few days.
